Export and Update Locations Using the CSV File
Export your entire Locations List using the export utility in settings | IMPORT/EXPORT tab. This is a quick method to update location names if you design a new grid of your service area or expand your service area. In addition, this is an easy way to populate new fields when you create a locations custom field.
A comma separated values file (CSV) is a common, relatively simple file format that is widely supported by consumer and business applications. Among its most common uses is moving list data between programs.
Locations cannot be created using the CSV template due to the association link needed with a customer record. Customer ID and Location ID values are required and can not be changed.
Update locations quickly by exporting the locations list, making changes, and then uploading the updated CSV. Update the file in bulk to save time and reduce the opportunity for error.
Export locations and update a location using the CSV Locations Import Template requires ‘View Import Export’ enabled in either ‘Role or User Roles & Rights’ security settings.
